I haven't had direct experience with vitaCare. What can you tell me about its services?

A:
vitaCare is the antidote to a complicated prescription process. It's patient focused and provides exceptional convenience, savings, and support.


Q:
Will health insurance cover the prescriptions sent to vitaCare?
A:
An insurance verification will be conducted to ensure that the patient pays the most affordable price for the prescription.


Q:
What if the patient has no insurance plan? What if the patient's insurance doesn't cover the medication?

A:
We may be able to offer patient assistance programs or cash pay options for those patients that do not have commercial insurance plans.


Q:
What is needed in order for vitaCare to process a prescription?
A:
To process a prescription, you may call vitaCare directly at 1-800-350-3819 to start the order process.

Friendly Reminder: Patients should have insurance information and a form of payment available to help make the process fast and easy.


Q:
What can be expected after prescription information is provided?
A:
A prescription typically ships the same day it is received before 1 PM ET - otherwise, it will ship the next business day. All prescriptions are standard shipped Monday through Friday. After a prescription is received and processed, it will arrive within 2 to 5 business days Monday through Friday. Standard shipping is always FREE. You or your patient also has the option to request to have their prescription filled at their local pharmacy or have a prescription transferred to the pharmacy of their choice, at no additional charge.


Q:
Why should prescriptions be sent to vitaCare versus using a pharmacy?
A:
When prescriptions are sent to vitaCare, patients benefit from its unique triad of convenience, savings, and support that a pharmacy alone simply can’t offer.


Q:
Are automatic refills an option for patients?
A:
Yes, patients have the option to enroll into the auto-refill program at no additional charge. Patients enrolled in the auto-refill program will receive their prescription as determined by their healthcare provider and may cancel at any time.


Q:
How does the practice submit a patient's prescription into vitaCare?
A:
Healthcare providers may e-prescribe to vitaCare Prescription Services at NCPDP# 5728045 (6800 Broken Sound Parkway, Suite 100, Boca Raton, FL 33487), fax the patient's prescription to 1-800-891-4320 or 1-888-708-8761, call the prescription in to 1-877-992-3554, or email the patient's prescription to customerservice@vitaCarerx.com

Q:
What do you do if medications are recalled from a manufacturer?
A:
If we’re notified that a medication has been recalled, we will notify all the customers that have been potentially affected and properly dispose of the medication from our pharmacy.


Q:
How should I dispose of my medications? Does vitaCare take back my old medications?
A:
Like most pharmacies, vitaCare does not accept returned medication. For guidance on the safe disposal of medications, including sharps and transdermal patches, please contact your state health agency or follow the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines. If you have additional questions, you can also contact us at the pharmacy.
